ASPIRE SCHOLARSHIP

Empowering Future Engineers

Aspire Scholarship aims to provide essential support to aspiring engineers who face financial obstacles in their pursuit of higher education and help create a brighter future for them in their pursuit of excellence.

The Aspire Scholarship is a flagship initiative of the Swayam Charitable Trust, a not-for-profit organisation engaged in CSR initiatives and philanthropic work of the Chowdhry family. The scholarship has been established to support meritorious students who face financial barriers in pursuing engineering education, enabling them to continue their academic journey with confidence, dignity, and the freedom to focus on excellence. The programme reflects the belief that talent and ambition should never be limited by financial circumstances. Through sustained financial support and a strong community ecosystem, the Aspire Scholarship aims to nurture future engineers who will make meaningful contributions to society and the nation’s growth.

The Philosophy Behind Aspire

The scholarship embodies the spirit of aiming high and dreaming big, values captured in the title of Dr. Ajai Chowdhry’s memoir Just Aspire. The initiative encourages young individuals to pursue excellence, remain resilient in the face of challenges, and build a future driven by purpose and possibility.

Scholarship Support and Financial Aid

The Aspire Scholarship provides comprehensive financial assistance designed to reduce the economic burden on students and their families throughout the duration of their engineering programme. The scholarship covers:
  • Tuition fees for the entire duration of the B.Tech. programme
  • Hostel accommodation fees
  • Mess charges
  • Mentorship
The support is provided for the full course duration, subject to annual renewal based on predefined academic and conduct-related criteria. By addressing essential educational expenses, the scholarship enables students to focus on learning, innovation, and personal growth without financial stress.

Programme Structure and Scale

With a commitment of ₹10 crore, the Aspire Scholarship commenced with the 2023–2024 B.Tech. batch, marking the beginning of a long-term effort to support deserving engineering students. Each year, 28 outstanding scholars are selected from the first-year B.Tech. batches across eleven prestigious institutes in India –
  • Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
  • Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad
  • Indian Institute of Technology Patna
  • Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
  • Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
  • Indian Institute of Technology Goa
  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing Jabalpur Indraprastha
  • Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi
  • Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology, Naya Raipur
  • Jabalpur Engineering College
  • National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Ranchi

Selection Process

The selection of Aspire Scholars follows a rigorous and transparent process designed to identify students who demonstrate both academic merit and strong potential. The evaluation is conducted by Swayam Charitable Trust’s management or its appointed jury through a fair and structured assessment process, ensuring that support reaches deserving candidates who can benefit most from the opportunity.

Programme Management

The Aspire Scholarship is managed by Buddy4Study, a leading scholarship management platform, which ensures seamless implementation of the programme through a robust technical interface along with administrative and operational support.

Governance

The Aspire Scholarship is guided by the trustees of the Swayam Charitable Trust, whose vision and commitment continue to support the initiative’s mission of expanding access to quality education and opportunity.
